Final Exam Schedule

The final exam schedule can be found online at src.buffalo.edu/schedule/finalexamschedule . Encourage your students to look at their schedule to make sure there are no “exam conflicts” (i.e., two exams during the same examination period or three exams scheduled on one day), and to begin planning their study time.

Mandatory Academic Advising

ALL STUDENTS should make an appointment with an Academic Advisor at least once a semester for course selection assistance as well as other academic strategies for success.

*NOTE: If you are a FIRST SEMESTER FRESHMAN, avoid an Advising (A) checkstop! Schedule your MANDATORY APPOINTMENT WITH AN ACADEMIC ADVISOR as soon as possible before registering for Spring 2010 classes!

**If you are a first semester freshman who particularly came to UB undecided about a major, then be sure that you have attended your MANDATORY ADVISING APPOINTMENT with STUDENT ADVISING SERVICES by no later than Friday, November 6, 2009. Family Weekend Coming Up!

UB’s Family Weekend, an opportunity for parents and family members to join their students at UB, will be held on October 9-11. Highlights of the weekend include An Evening with Whoopi Goldberg on Friday, UB Bulls Football on Saturday, and a Family Brunch on Sunday. There are also several free events throughout the weekend. Spring 2010 Course Registration

Course registration for Spring 2010 will begin over the next several weeks for most first-year students. Students’ registration windows (i.e., the dates they can begin registering) are based on the number of college credits they have already completed, and can be found by logging on to MyUB. It is important that your students resolve any outstanding checkstops, meet with their academic advisor , and review the spring course offerings well before their registration window opens.

Events will include a General Session on Friday and presentations by exhibitors and local environmental organizations, educational activities on Saturday, and a ticket to the Renewable Energy Products and Services Exhibit Hall. Your Exhibit Hall and Public Events ticket will admit you to the Exhibit Hall during any open hours - Thursday - Saturday, 10 am to 5 pm, to the general session beginning at 4 pm on Friday, May 15 and to any dealer/installer trainings that do not require separate registration. If you register on line before the event, admission will be $5 per person, with free admission for children 18 and under accompanied by an adult. The on-site admission fee will be $10 per person.

Last Day to RESIGN for Spring Courses is TOMORROW - Friday 3/27/09!

The LAST day to resign (R) a spring semester course(s) for all undergraduate students is tomorrow,  Friday, March 27, 2009 by 11 pm (using MyUB or BIRD).

If you are considering resigning from a course(s) be sure that you have:

  • Talked with your instructor to discuss if you can obtain any additional help.
  • Spoken with an Academic Advisor to discuss strategies to improve your performance and to learn of the consequences of course resignation, including how changes to your course load could impact your sequence of required courses or your time to graduation.
  • Talked with financial aid to learn how changes in your course load may impact financial aid.
  • Learned how changes to your course load may impact your medical insurance eligibility.
  • Verified you have no checkstops which may prevent all registration activity.

Remember: If you are contemplating resigning from any courses this spring, talk with your instructors, speak with your Advisor, and use the following UB resources to assist you:
