UB Symphony Orchestra

The UB Symphony Orchestra is an 80-piece orchestra which holds mandatory auditions for all members at the beginning of each semester.

Be an important part of your University’s Symphony Orchestra and showcase your talent with the UB Community!

We are now welcoming students to join the orchestra for the Spring semester.
Some highlights of the Spring semester are the Symphony No. 9 (from the New World) by Dvorak, the Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun by Debussy and the Haydn Cello Concerto in C major, performed by Prof. Jonathan Golove.

Auditions are relaxed and informal and are a very good moment for all musicians to meet the conductor and vice versa. Each new member should play for the audition any music of their choice (ideally something slow and something faster.)

The orchestra rehearses Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:00 to 9:00PM in B1 Slee, and performs at least two concerts per semester in Lippes Hall.

Students must be registered for the course (see course numbers below) and sign up for an audition slot on the board of 302 Baird, anytime starting on December 15 (until the first week of classes). Auditions will take place during the first (and if necessary also second) week of classes.

For further details on auditions, please visit their website.

If you prefer so you may contact directly the Music Director of the Orchestra, Christian Baldini, at cbaldini@buffalo.edu
