French and Spanish Proficiency Exams

Do you still need to complete your Foreign Language General Education requirement?  Did you study French or Spanish for at least 3 years in high school (and earned good grades)?  Then you should consider taking a proficency exam (September 14 or October 5)!

Drop-In hours

Pre-Health Advisement

If you are a pre-health student or considering pre-health, you should know that there have been some changes with regard to making appointments with a pre-health advisor. 

Appointments are WALK-IN only for the first week of classes.  You may reserve a spot by going to our offices at 109 Norton and sign up for a 15 minute slot with either Dalene or Libby. 

Starting the second week of classes and for the remainder of the school year, there will be no walk-ins available.  Appointments can be made by calling 716-645-6013 or stopping by 109 Norton Hall.

Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship

The Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship and Excellence in Education Foundation awards scholarships to attract students to careers in mathematics, the natural sciences, and those engineering disciplines that contribute significantly to the technological advances of the United States.  The scholarship covers eligible expenses for tuition, fees, books, and room and board to a maximum of $7,500 per academic year.  Sophomore scholarship recipients can expect to receive a maximum of two years of scholarship support; junior scholarship recipients are eligible for a maximum of one year of scholarship support.

To be considered for nomination, students must currently have sophomore or junior class standing and be pursuing a bachelor’s degree on a full-time basis.  To be competitive, students must have at least an A- average (3.7 GPA); be a U. S. citizen, U. S. national, or permanent resident; have participated in at least one research experience in one of the above fields and be nominated through the University Honors College.
Completed applications are due by January 31, 2008.
