Spring 2007 Elective Announcement

If you are looking for an interesting elective (and would like to get to know one of your UB Scholars Advisors better) then think about taking CPM 382 - Law & Urban Problems in the Spring of 2007.

UB Scholars Advisor Crystal J. Rodriguez - Lane will be teaching this course which will examine the American legal system and the ways in which it attempts to resolve a variety of urban problems. Among the issues considered are housing, race, sex, employment discrimination, welfare rights, and restrictions affecting the handicapped. Readings will be discussed in class and guest speakers will come in weekly to discuss topics.

This is a great class for those thinking about attending Law School!!! Look forward to seeing you there!

*** Also crosslisted as AAS 382 which will give you credit for a General Education requirement.

Fall 2006 Course Resignation Deadline Approaching

All UB undergraduate students have until Friday, November 10th, to Resign from a class!

If you are struggling in a class, then you should immediately consult with your Academic Advisor and determine if resigning is the best option.

There may be some financial aid implications if you resign and fall below 12 credits, so you should also speak with a financial aid advisor if necessary. However, please note that resigning from a course will not impact your UB Scholars Scholarship!

Got SOUL?

Students in Organizations Understanding Leadership

Are you looking for a way to expand your leadership skills? Are you interested in becoming a “Certified Leader”?

Then the SOUL program may be for you!

The SOUL program is offered through the Leadership Development Center and administered through UBlearns.

Enrolling is easy - Just email mbentley@buffalo.edu and ask to be added to the program. To pass the program, you need to receive an overall 80% on the quizzes, which you complete at your own pace on-line!

If you complete the program by Friday, November 17, 2006 you will receive your certificate as well as an invitation to a special reception on your honor on Monday, December 4, 2006.
